What just opened.
A few places just opened that I’d rearrange a trip for.
Some weeks, honestly, nothing’s worth your inbox. This one was different — a handful of places opened (or are about to) that genuinely change where I’d send you this year. Here are the ones worth your time — and the one I’d lock in this week, before it’s gone.
Orient Express opened a 15th-century palace in Cannaregio.
Palazzo Don Giovannelli — 47 keys, an eight-year restoration by Aline Asmar d’Amman, the culinary program led by three-Michelin-star Heinz Beck. The address is the quieter side of Venice; the chef is the reason you’d build a long weekend around the meal.
Aman has a Mexico property. Finally.
Amanvari opens August 1 — eighteen keys on the East Cape inside Costa Palmas. Three miles of swimmable shore, a Trent Jones II course, a temazcal spa. Aman’s first in Latin America. Eighteen rooms, an August opening — the math on availability is what it sounds like.
Aman at Sea opened bookings.
Amangati — a 600-foot yacht, 47 suites, 94 guests, four restaurants, a jazz club, a 52-foot pool, two helipads, a spa with a Japanese garden — sails its inaugural Mediterranean season in summer 2027. The yacht doesn’t launch for another year. The booking window is open now. If a single Aman cabin matters to anyone you travel with, this is the week to look.
Seabourn is leaving after this season.
Northwest Australia’s Kimberley coast — tide-driven, helicopter-supported, no roads, no resorts. Seabourn just confirmed 2026 is its final Kimberley season; Ponant takes over from 2027. If it was on your list, this is the year — June–September is the window.
Performance tourism, named.
VO₂ max testing, specialised coaching, cryo and infrared recovery, paired with destination stays. The cleanest version we’ve seen is Six Senses Crans-Montana’s longevity programme — nervous system, metabolic balance, integration. Three weeks, an hour above the gondola.
The quietest shift of the six.
Saudi’s e-visa eligibility expanded again — over sixty countries now in. Five Red Sea properties are live, eleven more by year-end. Aman Wadi Safar anchors the Diriyah cultural rebuild. Sindalah Island, the first finished NEOM piece, is built for yachts.
