What the UAE is known for
The UAE is superlatives, the tallest tower, the most opulent hotels, the boldest architecture, set against Bedouin heritage and Arabian desert. Dubai is the showpiece, a city of skyscrapers, beaches, and record-breaking everything. Abu Dhabi, the capital, blends culture, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Grand Mosque, with Formula 1 and island resorts.
The regions
Dubai is the heart, Downtown and the Burj Khalifa, the Palm, the marina, and the old souks along the creek. Abu Dhabi, an hour away, is grander and calmer, home to the Grand Mosque, Yas Island, and the F1 circuit. Beyond both lie the desert dunes and the Hajar Mountains.

When to go
November to March is the season, warm, sunny, and comfortable. Summer (June to September) is extremely hot, best for indoor luxury and lower rates. We build around your dates.
Good to know
Currency. The UAE dirham, pegged at about 3.67 to one US dollar. Visa. Many Western passports get visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival for short stays; we confirm for your nationality. Health. No vaccinations required. Good to know. Dress modestly at religious sites; the UAE is safe, easy, and English is widely spoken.
