Thailand

Thailand runs from the temple-lined boulevards of Bangkok to the misty hills of the north and the limestone islands of the Andaman Sea. Golden Buddhist temples, some of the best street food on earth, world-class beaches, and legendary hospitality. One of the great luxury destinations, at a fraction of the price. For the traveler who wants culture, adventure, and pure relaxation in one trip, few countries deliver like Thailand.

The Country Guide

What Thailand is known for

Thailand is temples, food, and warmth. Its Buddhist heritage runs through everything, from the Grand Palace in Bangkok to the mountain temples of Chiang Mai. The food alone is a reason to come, some of the best street food in the world beside a fast-rising fine-dining scene. Add tropical islands, jungle, and a service culture that is second to none, and you have a country that does culture, beach, and adventure equally well.

The regions

The center is Bangkok, a fast, glittering capital of temples, rooftop bars, and markets. The north, around Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle, is cooler and greener, home to hill tribes, elephants, and ancient temples. The south is islands and sea, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and the Phi Phi archipelago, made for diving, sailing, and beach luxury.

Sport, adventure & the outdoors

Rock climbing the limestone cliffs of Krabi and Railay. Diving and snorkeling the Similan Islands and Koh Tao. Sea-kayaking through Phang Nga Bay. Jungle trekking, zip-lining, and elephant sanctuaries in the north. And Muay Thai, the national sport, to watch or to train.

Wellness & recovery

Thailand is one of the world’s great wellness destinations. From the pioneering retreats of Koh Samui to sanctuaries like Six Senses and Amanpuri, it pairs traditional Thai massage, detox, and holistic programs with world-class settings, often for far less than you would pay elsewhere.

When to go

November to February is the sweet spot, cool, dry, and clear, and peak season. March to May is hot. June to October is the monsoon, wetter on the Andaman (Phuket) side but often fine on the Gulf islands like Koh Samui. We build the route around your dates and which coast you want.
